How is your mindset? And what is mindset anyway?
Mindset is defined as “the established set of attitudes held by someone”. Basically this means, what you think about yourself, your life, your loved ones, your work and anything to do with who you are and what you do.
There are 2 types of mindset. Fixed and growth. Most people are born with the assumption they have a certain amount of intelligence, skill, talent and ability; and that these cannot be improved upon. This is a fixed mindset. This mindset believes you get the luck of the draw and that there is nothing you can do to become smarter or acquire new skills. Of, course not everyone is going to be able to become a neurosurgeon, a mechanic or a dancer but it isn’t impossible to learn how to do these things with the right belief and desire. But, of course, not everyone WANTS to be a surgeon, mechanic or dancer. This is a growth mindset.
Shifting into a growth mindset is empowering as it opens you up to a world of possibilities. As you know by now this program is not just about losing weight. There is more to you than how much you weigh. You are smart, you are driven, you are determined, you are strong, you are capable, you have the power within you to become anyone you desire to be.
Now, let’s look at negative vs positive mindset.
For about 30 years of my life ( I am now 43) my mindset was a train wreck. Out of every 100 thoughts I had there would be about 5 positive, leaving 95 negative thoughts floating around my head all day everyday. Experts predict we have approximately 50,000 – 80,000 thoughts per day, which is about 2,100 – 3,300 thoughts per hour. So if I have 95% negative thoughts then I have about 1,995 – 3,135 awful, judgemental, depressing, angry, frustrating, sad, rejecting, morbid, heartbroken thoughts every hour. Mostly about myself. So many wasted thoughts.
What do you think when you hear it broken down like this? Do you feel like your brain power is being wasted on these terrible thoughts? Do you believe you do not have control over what you are thinking? Or do you trust that it is possible to inject a positive mentality into your mind?
In the 30 day Mindset challenge workbook you will find lots of Power moves, some positive language you can use instead of the negative self talk as well as some mantras you can infuse into your day because once you do you will notice a huge recalibration in your brain which manifests itself into your world. You will begin to look at yourself differently, you will look at your whole world through different eyes. It is a true awakening; welcoming wonderful things into your life because you now understand the power of a positive thought.
